CA: John Deere Review by Sara from Shreveport, LA (5/5 stars) NOTHING run
medium

NOTHING runs like a DEERE👍 I have 40 plus year old John Deere L111 and yes it runs well. I am an 47 year old female with very limited mechanical knowledge and I can fix this mower when it glitches out. My Grandfather would be proud as he swore by this brand.

Old JD 111 throttle/governor issues
low

Hey all, I've got an old JD 111 (from the 70s or 80s, I dont have the engine model number handy). It has an old 11hp flathead Briggs with the 1 piece carburetor. I'm having trouble with maintaining desired RPMs. Carb is tuned decent, but it seems to only run idle, or pegged out. Throttle is extremely touchy. While the PTO and drive are engaged while running maxed out it will "bog down" to about the right RPMs. I've gone through standard adjustment of the throttle cable and governor (loosen nut, turn screw 1 way or other, then tighten) and haven't gotten anywhere. Still idles or surges to 100%, no in between. I dont THINK theres any missing or damaged springs, but I dont know as I cant find any close up pictures of a similar setup. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! If you want any pics or a model number I'll snag them after work

John Deere L111 help
low

Okay so we purchased a John Deere L111 not too long ago from someone with about 300 hours on it. After a few strips of mowing it will basically stop moving forward or reverse, the engine will still run, but it won’t move. I noticed the other day once this happens if I turn the blades off it will move forward or back no problem, turn blades on it won’t move again. What the heck is the deal? I really don’t know where to begin to even diagnose an issue, but I’ve heard everything from belts to rear end replacement and I just need to know if anyone’s had a similar situation and what it ended up being for them.
